Cecilia Saavedra is the Administrative Coordinator for the SEED Scholars Honors Program at UC Berkeley. As a first-generation professional, she is deeply committed to fostering equity in STEM education and ensuring historically marginalized students have access to resources, mentorship, and a supportive community to help them thrive.
With extensive experience in student services, program coordination, financial literacy advocacy, and wellness programming, Cecilia takes a compassionate, student-centered approach to her work. Her background in environmental science, land systems management, and higher education administration informs her dedication to creating inclusive and accessible learning environments.
She has worked extensively in academic programming, event planning, and financial literacy advising to support marginalized communities, including first-generation, low-income, and disabled students, by providing holistic support systems that empower them to achieve their academic and professional goals.
Cecilia holds a bachelor’s degree in environmental science with a focus on geography and planning, as well as a degree in horticulture land systems and management.
